BLUEBLOCKS turn the blue economy into something you can build with.
Certified concrete stacking blocks made from secondary raw materials and produced with renewable energy Carmans generates itself.
A product that adds up on every front: technical, aesthetic and circular.
Since 2015, Carmans has been turning contaminated materials into certified secondary raw materials in a fully automated plant. That is the foundation of every BLUEBLOCK. Gravel and sand recovered from our soil remediation and recycling activities are made into stacking blocks that customers can put straight to use as a retaining wall, storage solution or noise barrier.
Everything, from soil remediation to production, happens on one site. No needless transport, an exceptionally short loop and an ecological footprint we keep as small as we can.
The range comes in more than 10 sizes. Take a look at our range
Traditional stacking blocks have square studs. We chose round ones, just like a Lego brick.
That speeds up installation and gives the stacking blocks a sleeker, more finished look.
Our patented finish with gabions is one of a kind. The gabions attach to the concrete stacking blocks and can be filled with lava rock or other materials. The result is a wall that not only looks good but also has an acoustic dampening effect, which is why BLUEBLOCKS also work as noise barriers.
Compared with traditional gabions, the slimmer design needs less infill, while the concrete core keeps the wall strong and stable.
For us, economy and ecology go hand in hand. BLUEBLOCKS are produced entirely with renewable energy we generate ourselves, from solar panels and wind turbines on our own site. Add recovered raw materials and a production process without needless transport, and the result is probably the lowest CO₂ footprint of any concrete stacking blocks on the market.
"A small loop, a big difference."
Quality is built into every step of the process. Our raw materials come from our own soil remediation activities and carry the CERTIPRO mark. And the stacking blocks themselves are designed for flexibility, ease of use and a neat finish.
